Admission

Pupils are admitted at the discretion of the Principal.

In the first instance we invite parents to look around School to discover what we can offer your child at Heathland. Usually, the Vice Principal or other senior member of staff will show you around, when you will have the chance to talk to pupils and see the School at work. We hold Open Days, when no appointment is necessary or if you prefer, we can arrange an appointment to suit you, although we do prefer it to be during school hours as we believe that without pupils, the school is just a building.

A suitable time is then arranged for your child to visit the School, perhaps for a couple of days or a week to get to know the environment before making the commitment to apply to join the School. This can be useful on both sides as we can interview informally and assess academically without the stress of a formal interview.

Up to the age of 11, entry is granted on successful personal interview and conditional on good behavioural reports from previous schools.

Children wishing to apply for a place in our Senior School will be subject to an entrance examination to establish general academic achievement, but great consideration will be given to personal interview.

Admission during the School year is possible if there is a suitable vacancy.

One child per school year will be offered a bursary of 50% off all school fees during their senior years at Heathland. This grant is decided after the February entrance examination.

We firmly believe that by offering continuous educational provision from Early Years to GSCE level, we can guide your child through their school life with the minimum of disruption and the maximum of support.

VIEWING:

Interested parents are cordially invited to contact the Vice Principal for an appointment to view the School and discuss the information outlined in this prospectus. A visit during the working day is encouraged as it is then possible to speak with the children and teaching staff and thus gain a true impression of the atmosphere within the School.
